Writing Classes

Creative Circle Writers Group

The Creative Circle Writers Group meets monthly. The purpose of the group is to allow members to share their work, use the group to explore ideas using appreciative Inquiry, and act as readers and listeners to other members’ work. The process is intended to build a community of writers in Jonesborough who feel supported and enriched by the relationships created in this positive environment and to encourage members to build their portfolio of work, whether they are beginning writers or established authors.

NEW! Home School Story Collecting

In this story collecting course learn the art of interviewing family members and peers in order to capture their life stories. This interactive class allows students to play a role in capturing the important culture and heritage of their own families. Stories may be chosen for the McKinney Center’s annual play or monthly radio show at the International Storytelling Center. All skill levels welcome!

Help your community by fulfilling McKinney Center's mission.
