Beginning Watercolor Techniques

Course Instructor

GINNY WALL

Course Information

Students with little or no experience with watercolor will learn the basic skills of how to paint with this transparent medium. Each week, several techniques will be demonstrated followed by time for the student to practice in class. By the end of the 8-week session, students will have a working knowledge of washes, softening edges, glazing, layering, negative painting, etc. The first week of class, supplies will be discussed, including how to set up your palette, brush care, etc. Each skill learned will be built upon from week to week, so it is important that students do not miss class if at all possible. Lots of demonstrations, lots of fun, but expect to work hard and practice! A supply list will be available prior to the start of class. Supply costs are not included in tuition.
