SUMMARY:MLK Jr. Food Drive at the McKinney Center
DESCRIPTION:Tocelebrate and remember Martin Luther King Jr.\, the McKinney Center invites thecommunity to join them in a month-long service project. Between December 16th\,2024\, and January 20th\, 2025\, you can donate food to the Jonesborough AreaMinisterial Association (JAMA) Food Pantry by bringing your donations to theMcKinney Center. \nAs we rememberDr. King\, we remember his call to service\, “How wonderful it is that nobodyneeds to wait a single moment before starting to improve the world?’” TheMcKinney Center is inviting the Jonesborough community to join in celebratingthe service of Dr. King by participating in a food drive to support the JAMA(Jonesborough Area Ministerial Association) Food Pantry. The JAMA Food Pantryserves residents with Jonesborough\, Telford\, or Limestone addresses. Inparticular\, the Food Pantry needs: \n  \nHamburgerhelper \nSkillet dinners \nMacaroni &cheese \nCereal \nPancake mix \nSyrup \nSpeghettios \nChef Boyardee \nSpaghetti \nSpaghetti Sauce \nBaked Beans \nCanned Chicken \nTo donate food items at the McKinneyCenter\, please drop off items December 16th  through January 20th\,Monday through Friday\, 8 am to 5 pm. Please help us to feed our community.According to the USDA\, “Donating wholesome food for human consumptiondiverts food waste from landfills and puts food on the table for families inneed.” With the need now morethan ever for food support\, the McKinney Center sees this as an important wayto serve the community\, especially as many in our county have been affected bythe flood this year.  \nFor more information about this event\,please contact McKinney Center’s Community Program Specialist Skye McFarland atskyem@jonesboroughtn.org or call 423-753-0562. \n  \n
